Inspired by the success of our in-person Social Capital Academy, we are excited to introduce the Social Capital Smart Virtual Academy—your gateway to empowering job seekers, students, and community members to build, measure, and sustain social capital for career success and personal growth.
Our program is strategically designed to support workforce professionals, youth development leaders, policymakers, justice professionals, and other changemakers. By integrating a social capital framework, participants can achieve improved outcomes both for themselves and their programs. Through our pioneering approach to job readiness, mentoring, and leadership development, the Social Capital Smart Virtual Academy focuses on ensuring participants’ long-term career success and personal empowerment.
The Virtual Social Capital Smart Certification Academy includes:
A 4-hour virtual training
Followed by 3 weeks of live virtual coaching to support implementation
Certification for all staff who complete the academy and coaching
What if a staff member misses the Sept. training? No problem. They can attend the October and November, so your team stays on track.
Staff will learn how to strengthen each program element—like work experience, follow-up, occupational skills training and retention—through the intentional use of social capital strategies. This training equips them with tools to make every element more engaging, relationship-driven, and results-oriented.

FAQs
If you are a workforce, youth development, or career coaching professional serving youth, adults, or entrepreneurs, this course is essential. It equips you with tools and strategies to enhance program outcomes and participant success through social capital education and development.
In addition to the 4-hour academy, you’ll receive a certification upon completion and access to a six-week coaching program. During coaching, you’ll select one of four assignments and complete a capstone project that explores how social capital strategies could be integrated into your existing program—without requiring structural changes—and reflect on the potential impact. You’ll also gain access to the Social Capital Smart Program community, where you can connect with like-minded professionals and access valuable tools and resources.

Each of the three academies (June, July, and August) covers the same content. If a staff member is unable to attend the June date, they can attend any of the other two. However, if you access the Social Capital Smart Program Membership, your entire staff can attend any academy session throughout the year at one flat rate and as often as they like.
